A Great Day Out For All The Family In Support of A very Worthy cause

On Sunday 25th May Old Sarum Airfield near Salisbury will play host to an all-day event that will provide wonderful family entertainment and raise urgently needed money to support the families of those members of the Parachute Regiment who are casualties of current operations.

An action packed day will include a breathtaking freefall parachuting display by the Red Devils, the official parachute display team of both the Parachute Regiment and the British Army.

Providing nostalgia and thrills, there will be flying by vintage airplanes and aerobatics displays. Those taking part will include the WW II fighters, the Spitfire, Hurricane and Mustang, and formation aerobatics by the Aerostars' six Yak 50 aircraft.

For lovers of Britain’s prestigious car marques there will be parades by the Bentley Drivers Owners Club and the Aston Martin Owners Club, plus the opportunity to view vintage aircraft and military equipment at close hand.

The event begins with a Drumhead service and Parachute Regiment veterans’ march-past at 10.30 and the doors open at 09.00.

Children’s Activities

We have planned an exciting day for all especially children of all ages -- 4 to 90! The Army is supplying their 80 foot inflatable assault course for the children to play on. We have a “rock” wall to test climbing skills, paint balling, rifle range as well as a Challenger 2 tank, our frontline battle tank, Scimitar Light Tank and the huge Trojan Bridge Layer on display with the crews there to answer any questions you may have.

About Us

SUPPORT OUR PARAS (Patron General Sir Mike Jackson) has been established to raise money for the Central Fund of The Parachute Regiment. The funds raised by SUPPORT OUR PARAS will help Parachute Regiment battalion commanders give immediate assistance to the families of those members of the Parachute Regiment who are casualties of current operations. This is a very valuable source of support: anxiety, confusion and sometimes pride can prevent dependents from seeking help at the time they need it most. The Parachute Regiment is very well placed to identify those in need and step in to help.

Our Paras In Action

It has been traditional to give additional support to both soldiers in need and their families - particularly during times of conflict. The requirement to have adequate charitable resources available to provide this extra urgent support is invaluable. The money will go to Regimental HQ where it will be ring-fenced and used in a carefully considered way to assist casualties and their families.
