Getting to Old Sarum Airfield
By Road
From the South
Old Sarum
Aerodrome is located approximately 2 miles north of Salisbury.
From the ring road take the A345 north signed Amesbury. After
approximately 1.5 miles you will pass Old Sarum Castle on your
left. Continue for a further 600 yards to the roundabout
(Behive Park & Ride) and take the second exit signed
Marlborough (and Football Ground). At the next roundabout take
the first exit. Take the next right turn into Sarum Business
Park, follow the road round to the left and continue for
approximately 200 yards. Take the second turning to the right
Hangar 3 and the club house will now be on your
left.
From the North
From the A303 turn off onto the
A 345 towards Salisbury after leaving Amesbury continue for
approximately 5 miles at the roundabout (Behive Park &
Ride) take the second exit signed Marlborough (and Football
Ground). At the next roundabout take the first exit. Take the
next right turn into Sarum Business Park, follow the road
round to the left and continue for approximately 200 yards.
Take the second turning to the right Hangar 3 and the club
house will now be on your left.
The parking for the
Flying Club is limited there is extra parking by the tower
going towards the airfield and turn right.

Rail
Salisbury is 1hr 35mins from London Waterloo
there are frequent trains throughout the day. The airfield is
approximately ten minutes by taxi.

Old Sarum (EGLS) is located
within the Boscombe Down, Middle Wallop CMATZ. However joining
is straightforward. When the Boscome MATZ is active (NB the
Boscombe ATZ is active 24hrs) pilots should contact Boscombe
on 126.70 before entering the MATZ. Departure and arrival are
via the Alderbury VRP (see map below). Bocombe will then ask
you to contact Old Sarum 123.2.
When the Boscombe MATZ
is not active then standard overhead joins may be
used.
